I have been spending the day workin on my 20gal reef and put a couple of corals, snails and a small ocellaris into a seperate bowl while I worked. I was watching the zoas open under the sky light and I spotted a small, (~1.5mm across) jelly. I have found some interesting hitchhikers in my tank but I've never noticed a jelly, or hydroid, before.

I'd like to keep it around for the coolness factor but I know as soon as I put it back in the display it could easily get sucked into the overflow, and besides, it's only 1.5mm big and I doubt I'll see it again. I tried to take a picture but the camera couldn't focus on it. I'll try with a macro lens on my film slr.

Hydroids...can kill small clowns....

Also, as DonW states, you 'do' have more :)

Best,
Ilham

A ha. Well, the madusa's cool to watch in a bowl, I'm a bit surprised I haven't seen any polyps since I've had this live rock for more than three years. I've found plenty of hydroids in lakes so I know what they look like.

Well little jelly, down the drain you go...
