Hey Todd, this video is the first time I've looked at your tank. It's a beauty! I'd love to have that fish combination. I'll have to sit down when I have a few hours and go through all 4 threads. In the meantime, what are the exact measurements of your tank?

Thanks Guys, and once I can figure out the White Balance on my Nikon DSLR will shoot a color-correct better quality video. Matt, my tank is basically a 125g Breeder at 60"x 24"x 20" and most of the fish are from Hawaii that myself or my friend Les collected as juveniles. Algae of any type does not stand a chance in there with 5 Tangs plus a handful of snails and Hawaiian Snakehead Cowries. I'll give a go with camera tomorrow to show Corals a bit better.

Cheers, Todd

A lot of reef tanks dont really look like a reef. Weather it is the pile of rocks, bad coral choices or placement. Maybe it is the lack of fish movement. Any how, many just look like a fake.
But your tank Todd, Looks like a miniature real reef. There is so much activity and correct structure that it makes me believe I am looking at the real thing.
Great job!!

Beautiful Todd. Is that the tail spot blenny the one you got from Dave? He was mine originally, then I gave him to Dave, glad to see he is healthy and happy. He is in good hands.

Hey Earl, glad everything is doing better with your wife. Have spent many many days/nights in area Hospitals with my wife and absolutely know how stressful it is. Your Tailspot ended up over to Mikes (herefishy) Of the pair I have the female I've had for 3-4 years and picked up a tiny one from Red C last Summer that grew into the male, they have spawned at least twice this year already.

Thanks Dave, I have put a whole lot of time and a few coins together to get it to where it is now. I feel very fortunate that I've had the time (retired) and funds to do it right.... mostly anyhow. Still have not made my canopy or a permanent ATO reservoir yet.... though Beach House remodel is nearly complete, less and less of the original structure each Month.

Cheers, Todd

Well.... about time for an update as I've just finished a three full day partial Reef Deconstruction and rebuild. Had a couple corals continually growing out of the water and one very large/old Sarcophyton (Toadstool) catching current and pulling a 15lb rock over reeking havoc on surrounding colonies. So without further ado here is a quick point-n-shoot pic sequence of past few days.

FTS 6-11-13 very crowded

Deconstruction zone 6-12-13

FTS 6-13-13 "look at that clean sandbed will ya"

60g lonnggg Frag Tank with mostly remaining corals/pieces not going back in

I'll post some better pics of everything in a few days once they are all settled in and happy again

Cheers, Todd

Well todd.. it looks great! Any plans of plumbing the frag tank into the system? Im starting to think about upgrading out of this 40b.

We will see!

Thanks Nata and Damien, it had been a real chore in trying to move things about as they over grew their alotted spaces and quite the challenge... kind of like playing one of those puzzle/picture games with the sliding tiles but instead of just 16 spaces more like 72...lol
I definitely need to bring out my DSLR to capture better more accurate colors/contrast those above are pretty awful now that I look at them while wide awake. Now that I've spent all this time re-aquascaping NO MORE CORALS don't care how cool they look... but after selling off some extras will look for a nice Grade 'A' T. maxima to replace one that my fish ate last Fall while under the care of our Teenager.... from 3-5 feedings a day to about 4-5 feedings in 10 days. I also added in a female Flame Angel that's been in QT for 3+ months and three smaller Bangaiis from Mikes tank to replace male that passed.... is 23 fish to many for a 125g DT/170g system ??? Another thing I did was to dip most all corals since probably the wise thing to do while accessible and in moving/stressing them, NO PESTS found... Yeah! Damien, no plans of plumbing in the Frag Tank unfortunately as no room to do so where DT sits..... next tank or tank move ???

Cheers, Todd

you know you're doing something right when your scraps and trimmings mostly fill a 60 gallon tank...lol

looks super nice..before and after.. I hope one day to have this very same issue..

thanks for the pics..

Your the only guy I know that can make a emptier tank look full!!!

When is the date of the garage/frag/colony sale??

No no no, no Anemones in this Reef. Only slightly less devastating than a Crown of Thorns in a SPS tank. No Clownfish either for past couple of years.

Cheers, Todd

Really nice man! Full corals and full tank lol.
