I must have a gazillion nearly microscopic white bugs swimming around my almost one month old 8 gallon BioCube nano reef tank. So many that I would almost consider it an eyesore.

I have about 8 lbs of live rock that came from an established tank. I have a nice colony of green star polyps, one small zoa colony, two small green mushrooms, and a small ricordea. 1 emerald crab, 6 hermit crabs, 2 cerith snails, 5 astrea snails, 1 nasserious snall.

I have an issue with green hair algae. Water changes plus my new emerald crab is making a noticable difference.

So, what should I do about all the pods? I dont think anything that I currently have in the tank eats them. What would consider them food that I could reasonlably put in my tank?

i wish i had your problem.
if you have access to a mandrin for a few weeks i would try that (only if you can put him back in his larger and more long term system in the end).

If not, i would just pat your self on the back for having such a good little system and move on. Considering the young age of your tank, and the nature of most animals (aside from people) finding a natural balance in their ecosystems i would just wait them out. You could be over feeding, or they could be gorging on the remains of your tank cycle. At any rate, i believe that you will see a decline as your tank ages and gets a bit more settled in.

Hold up :) Established rock and an established tank are two different things. How long has the tank been running? A pod explosion coupled with Hair Algae issues is indicative of a cycling tank, be it the first or one of many.

If this tank is less than a few months old, do nothing but continue the water changes. How much water are you changing at a time and how often?
