Have had this up and running for a few months (5) but figured I would do somewhat of a build thread.

YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTskRigIH-0&list=UU3YBONQ5Hdxg5qDcUZnj7PA A friend came over and did up a little video. He has documented quite a few of my tanks. Thanks Tyler ;)

Corals started to look pretty bad after a few weeks in the tank. I figured it was "new tank syndrome"? Tank was cycled for two months before switching my other tanks over to this one. All parameters have been spot on (Salifert test kits). Anyway corals are starting to come around and looking much better.

Tank
Marineland Starphire 300DD, stand and canopy. I ended up building a 10" riser so the stand was at a better viewing height.

beautiful tank. thank you very much for sharing. gotta watch the video again.

IPisces, thanks. It's defiantly going to be a work in progress. Hopefully in the next few months it fills in.

Yes, nice job! I actually seen your tank video on facebook today and wanted to ask what pump you are useing/flow rate through the sro5000. I have the same skimmer....and same style tank and have a mag 9.5 dialed back on that skimmer. I also have an swc extreme cone250 with two sicce psk1000 pumps and find the swc actually kickes butt on my sro. I'm kind of disapointed because the sro, as you know is way better quailty construction and want to dial it in better. link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOwGMz6nkqc&list=UUP_0AzV8Tr4wOJbJ1Yzfu9A

yours seems to being producing better so any advice would be appreciated!

Hello, the feed pump is a Tunze 1073.020 (max 634GPH 0 head). I have it wide open with 2' of hose and 8" of head. If I had to guess I would say it's running about 500GPH maybe a hair less. Hope that help. So far I have been VERY happy with this skimmer. fills once a week with some dark nasty skimmet.

I watched your video and loved it. I wish I had the room to add that much sump. ;)

Dayuuum! Now that's what I call a fish tank. In fact, it's tanks like these that inspired me to get started with this in the first place. Thanks for such an informative video as well. Cheers!
