Tridacna crocea spawning

This clam started releasing eggs after two large snails released eggs and sperm into the water column. It ejected eggs about every two min. for about a half hour. Many of the smaller fish were eating the eggs. The tank looked like a snow storm was happening between the snails and the clam. It is the only T. crocea in the tank and did not trigger the other species of Tridanca to spawn.

First the eggs would have to be fertilized then they would have to be prevented from being eaten, picked up in the filtration system, etc.

I have had several clams spawn in my tanks but just sperm. You must have both male and female spawning at the same time. This was my first clam that had eggs. The event was triggered by a pair of large snails that had begun to release eggs and sperm a few moments before. We shall see if any of those will mature.
