It is a AquaBee pump, not a RIO on them.

The origonal t1000's came with a rio 2100.

Actually.. The original T1000 comes with the OR2700 not Rio nor AquaBee. AT some point later though, AquaMedic started packing the Rio with the T1000. My guess is to cut cost.

OK guys. Final Jepordy question.
If I dump the Rio2100 (Sorry Scooter, says Rio right on it) and bump up to the OR2700, will I get better performance out of the skimmer? 10%? 50%? Is it worth the cost of the pump? What's the best guess?
Didn't know it was going to turn into a TF1000 history lesson! I really do appreciate the input though. Can't begin to tell you how much screwing around this saves me.

Don't know being it is the Rio2100 you may not be gaining much, I was comparing to the Aquabee I had, If that is what you have it may not be worth spending the money. Really for the price of a new pump you can have a good portion of a new skimmer, maybe not top of the line but who said you need cell cast acrylic for everything, save the money & get a better skimmer, JMO! Heck the TB1000 is plastic LOL!

why don't you try the mesh mod first before deciding on whether to get a new pump or not?

The mesh mod improved the performance in nearly all the skimmers thta I have tested on and this included the T1000. Granted mine is an insump model so there may be slight differences.
