Whats your application you have to ask yourself.........

Are you just wanting to stick it in your tank for wet close-up photos?

Are you going to be taking it on your next vacation to Hawaii where-ever to go snorkling at XYZ feet deep?

and are you a "picture taker" leaving it in Automode 90% of the time, or a "Photographer" that wants to have external strobes, shutter speed, and f-stop control.

I'm a scuba diver, and dive instructor, so my advice may be way different than your needs. But mine works at 150 foot deep with wide angle lenses and external strobes too.

So once again, what is your application and use for an "underwater camera"

i would like to stick it in my tank and take some pictures but i have been scuba diving and loved it so i would mostly like it for when i got on vacation and snorkel and go diving. the intova sport 8 goes deepest by far at 30 ft i know when scuba diving 30 ft isnt much but can still take some cool pictures but they also have a case that allows the camera to go to 130' which is plenty in my case. what do you think of that camera?

it's not the camera so much, as the person behind the camera that makes or breaks a good photo.

go out to www.scubaboard.com and look under the photography forum, great info. Olympus or Canon is very well supported in the aftermarket pro-sumer industry.

The new series of rugged olympus is pretty impressive spec wise, haven't touched one myself. But I'd get a housing for it anyways to take underwater.......
