My clam keeps blowing sand around and trying to move. I looked and there were 3 nassarius snails near it's foot. Are they eating it, should i be worried?

Thanks

Ryan

I believe some species of Nassarius are carnivores but most feed off detritus and dead stuff. Is the foot dead or dieing? If so , maybe they are eating it. Maybe it's not happy with it's location and trying to move. Water current/direction/quality and proper lighting are needed. Has it always been in the same spot and now it's acting up? Clam feet can fall off and grow anew. I've had'em do it...

I moved a powerhead the other day but I'havent seen the snails next to it until today. the clam has been in the same spot for months and is growing quite nicely.

what species of clam is it? what lighting do you have? i looked in your gallery but couldn't see much. for now i would move the clam up off the sand onto the rocks
