Upgrades Coming Soon

I wanted to give you a heads up on some upcoming upgrades to Reef Frontiers. We will be soon moving to a dedicated server environment in order to continue to grow and handle the ever increase traffic here (which is terrific). As part of the move, we plan on upgrading our software to the latest version of VBulletin. What does this mean? This means that there will be a time when I will have to turn off this site as I move the database over to the new location and get the domain to propogate to the new servers. I will try to keep the downtime to a minimum, but it could be a day before it is back up and running.

The timeframe I am shooting for is the 4th of July weekend, but it could be anytime after that. I will try to give a day's notice if I can

VB3 has a lot of neat improved features that I know you will all love. In order to make it a clean move and not lose posts, attachments, PMs, etc ... the site will have to be down. Please bare with me as we make this transition. It is all for the good, that's for sure

Well, the announcement feature doesn't separate out announcements and we just added an announcement not long ago ... soooo, as MD said, want people to know and be forewarned in case they all of a sudden realize they can't access the site

Just a warning, the time is near ... The dedicated server is on order ... just a matter of time that it gets set up and the changes commence ... soooo, giving some warning that if the site goes down in the next week, that is why Wish me luck :lol:

Server isn't ready yet ... not tonight anyway ... could take a few days so it may not be ready this weekend, but if it is, you will certainly find out ... :lol:

Well the server change likely won't be happening this weekend. I knew it would be a few days to get the server set up on their end. But I am doubting by the end of the long weekend. Sooo, next time it will likely occur will probably be next weekend (7/10 weekend) ... I will find out more early in the week after the holiday.
