Hi, im planning to upgrade to a bigger tank. i would like to know if i need to cycle again if im going use the water, liverocks and live sand from the old tank.

My current setup has a DSB, can i transfer this too or should i just use new sand?

Welcome to Reeffrontiers!!!!:)... it depends on how long the liverock is out of water...if it is transfered within a few hours, i think it would be fine...any longer and you could see some minimal dieoff from it..it could cause a very small cycle.if you transfered the rock immediately, it will be just fine...the sand on the other hand could be bad news....a deep sand bed has ton and tons of waste and nitrates in it...that could be a problem when you stir it up.....maybe, if you have a good skimmer, you could transfer the sand and skim out a bunch of junk and do big water changes, you could get the nitrates that it releases under control...or you could try a BB tank(low nitrates) :)
