UV Question

Hi everybody, I have a 9w UV sterilizer that i found and was wondering if it would even do anything on my setup? I am pretty sure that it is too small but is it even worth my time.

A 9 watt is actually rated for 50gal or smaller. It might keep your water clear of cloudiness from a water bourn algal bloom but that’s probably about it. You could also use it on a QT tank. Make sure to change the bulb out on the same time line like you would with fluorescents. They age and loose their effectiveness.

I am not worried about cloudiness so i think i will just put it on to my QT. Thanks guys

i would definately go ahead and get a new bulb..the old one is probably not as effective anymore
