Varable speed fan workshop

I am slammed for the next month or so and need something to look forward to.

I am very interested in variable speed fans as they keep the noise down (slow RPM) and yet provide automatic cooling according to the temp load. I figure I can keep the fans powered 24/7 and let the heat load dictate flow.

I see a parts count of "3" and view this as a gateway to building a multichip LED lamp, my own dimmable power supplies and other fun hobbies. I have a house with parking, a iron, and a new 300 gal reef that is finishing a cycle.

The f12's do the same thing using a pwm input. I think that they run for 11 dollars. I use them on all of my builds. I love them.
