Scott, love your avatar:cool:.

Thanks bud, always glad to see another fan out there (you would be suprised at how many are in the hobby...or maybe not, perhaps because of the obssesive nature that both reefers and deadheads share).

I can't imgaine never doing a water change. I would feel like that was flirting with disaster. However, if one were to consider this, how could they accurately suppliment depleted chemicals/elementals? Various seachem suppliments? Which ones would you think were important (all, just the trace elements, essential amino acids, etc...)?

For my tank, I always felt like my weekly water changes hindered softy growth. Heck, my xenia stopped to a standstill while SPS flourished during my "anal period."

Sorry Scott I just wanted to add a little fun to this thread.Like I said before sometimes I noticed in the past that large WC had a negative effect to my corals(mostly SPS)and remained close for hours and even longer.
I used several salt mixes in the past with similar effects so I dont think is the salt brand quality but just the sudden changes to good water quality.Perhaps corals can acclimate to pollutans and nutrients in our tanks more than they do in their natural environment?
I know of some reefers that only do 5% of water changes a year. You go figure!

Vina, hey, we need more humor anyways!!! How much do you change when you do a WC?
If corals in our tanks can adjust better, do you think it is because alot of us are building our tanks with frags from someone elses system?

Ha, no worries. When people leave themselves as open as I did in this thread, you have to take advantage... ;)
