I have an elos tank and the water surface and is not moving enough, you can see a film on the surface of the water. What would be the best solution?

Thanks

You need more flow, with some of it pointed at the surface. You may also want to check your skimmer to make sure it is pulling out enough gunk in a timely manner.

Yea, you definitely want good surface agitation. It also helps with increased oxygen exchange. :)

The elos have a small corner mounted over flow. Sometimes you will get a film on the surface if surface agitation isn't sufficient since the intake for the overflow is only 1.5-2 inches wide. You need movement along the entire surface to insure that you don't have a "dead spot" on the surface that will collect film.

I have a 90 gallon wave tank with no overflow. I do not have it plumbed to a sump, everything is hang on tank. I have a surface skimmer attached to the intake on my hang on skimmer and it does not do a good enough job by itself so I have one of my koralias on the opposite side of the tank pointed at the surface. That does the trick and even though it is pointed at the top it still gives that side of the tank adequate flow under the water too. Everyone on here is right by saying you need to point one at towards the top, it works :)
