These just started growing in my tank on an old rock I've had for years. Does anyone know what they are and if they are dangerous? The zoa's they are growing next to I've had for over a year.

Looks like some kind of hitch hiker zoanthid/paly.

I have some that started in my tank and have really grown out of control.
Wish I'd have kalked them when I first saw them.

Agree with Marty as usual :amen:. These dusty greens are very tough and fast growing:nono:. VERY hard to eradicate. I almost prefer Majanos :yuk:

Why can't we ever get a sweet hitchhikers like oregon torts or red planets huh.?.? lol

They don't seem to be irritating the zoa polyps next to them, but they aren't pretty and seem to be propagating with no problem. Yeah, at least they should be a nice looking zoa. The thing is that I have had both the green zoa's for a very long time and the live rock they are on for even longer. I don't have any idea where they came from.

Hey Earl, I think I have a few of those, I remember seen those after like 5 or 6 months in my new tank, so I believe I had them for over 2 years on 2 different rocks, they don't seem to bother anything around so I don't know if this are bad, light brown in color, not to fancy looking and they seem like slow growers, will try ta take a picture a little later

was looking a little closer at those, i just bought a cooperband butterfly, i dont see 3 on one rock, i think the new fish is eating those
