i just read a review that says they're noisy, and small collection cup, but are there any other things i should know aobut them, it seems like a lot of people are selling them now days, esp on ebay.

eeks - terrible skimmer. that was my first skimmer and it just did not perform. it was also a constant battle of daily adjustments to even try to get it to skim. i upgraded the pump thinking that may help but it didn't. i finally bought a euro-reef. :) so don't even waste your time.

Yes sold one on ebay because it sucked. Amazingly people got into some kind of bidding war, and paid almost as much as it cost new for a used one, and then the guy paid shipping to Greece, and used a freaking voltage converter. I tried to talk him out of it. So I would not buy another one for any reason. ASM G series skimmers rock.

alright i'm not going to get one, going to either double up or replace the seaclone witha remora or bakpak i think

in their day 10 or more years ago they were a great skimmer. They can be made to work well, but skimmers have come a long way. ASM are the best value for money.

i have used one for a year and a half on a 125 and it is ok. not great and it does need frequent cleaning to keep it skimming. my other skimmer is a seaclone 100 on a 55 and it works pretty good. i bet 2 seaclone 100's would out skim a berlin turbo.

YEAH! I don't need to stick up for my Seaclone in this thread hehe.

All kidding aside, If anything go with the majority. I have only heard good things about ASM or Remora. Sometimes saving you money is only creating a headache. I think I got lucky with the Seaclone I have. Then again I only have a small tank.

I am curretly running a berlin. so far it is a pain in the ^%#!!!! just stuck a double air pump on the air intake and it skim's BUT its days are numbered ordering from http://www.myreefcreations.com/ so after that the berlin will become a modified to see what will make it work if anything. too many people have these lying around, would be nice to have a thread on how to fix them!

My old TurboFloater 1000 was very efficient for the $200 price range, I would not put it on a tank bigger than 100g.

I use a Venturi skimmer by Precision Marine and it works just fine on my 90. Whether or not its a good skimmer, well i don't know you'd have to ask everyone else. Does anyone know if PM makes good skimmers or am i pointing this poor soul in the wrong direction?
