Well today i got home from work and my tank was all cloudy. Its a 150 gal sps dominent tank. i have a tridacna clam and 8 fish. Parameters

Amm= 0
nitrite=0
nitrate=2.5
phosphates=0
cal=440
alh=9.5
mag=1600

Rob from a red sea aquarium said might have been my clam shooting off some sperm lastnight. Since i goto work early and only lights are the moonlights. Has anyone else had this problem and id theres something i missed please let me know. All fish look good not breathing hard and eatting. Corals all have good pe. Did have 1 coral that didnt make the tank transfer a few weeks ago but everything esle is doing great.

Thanks for the help

Wes

just had that happen a week or so ago and i also think it was my clam "sperm-in" Had no ill effects but i did change out Carbon and Gfo that day to be safe

Yeah im thinking same thing since theres nothing wrong in my tank. But if i missed something suggestions would be appreciated. I only have 1 clam id hate to see what tanks people are breeding them in look like with they let loose.

Well after searching thru alot of things on youtube im thinking my snails are spawning and causing this. I added alot of new snails yesterday. Anyone else had snail spawn and cloud up your tank?

YES !!! especially if you have turbo snails...my tank was cloudy for 1-2 days, but it does clear up.

thanks NC2WA for the response. Hey little off topic you have any problems with that blueface eatting your lps? Im thinking on getting one but need to remove a clam first i think.

I had an anemone spawn right in front of me at the office when the lights turned on. I spewed a white cloud for about a minute or so. Not sure if you have one but the tank stayed cloudy for 1/2 a day 29 BC.

naw mag doesnt get dangerous till like 2k+ . I do have a diamond goby so might be a sand storm. im going to get a oxygen test kit today dont think that should be an issue i have a huge skimmer and alot of surface movement. ph was 8.1

Im guessing bacterial bloom. Spawn shouldnt take this long to clear and others running the new bio pellets have had the same issue at start up. thanks for all those that helped me out.
