hey. say i didnt go with th CBB, does anyone else have any other options for me. I want it to be equal in size and beauty. i want it to be the main fish in the tank. I dont want people to look at my tank and say WOW! that flame is angel is pretty or Geez those clown fish are cool. i want their attension on this fish which is why i wanted a CBB in the first place. I now find out theyre hard to keep and nip at things. Every fish has issues. Does anyone have any ideas about replacing the CBB and still have that wow effect?

Hmmm, here's an idea...Moorish Idols are amazingly beautiful and make GREAT center pieces...but are almost impossible to keep alive. How about the "Poor Man's Moorish Idol?" Otherwise known as the Banner Fish, Heniochus acuminatus. There's quite good information available about them at www.wetwebmedial.com

In reading up on them, here for a few minutes...lol, it would appear there are mixed results about "reef safe." They don't bother shrimp at all, as they aren't equipped to hunt and kill. It would appear they also normally don't bother corals. Here's a link to another WWM page that has a lot of great info on compatibility. It would appear that a couple of the species are schooling fish, though in a 75, I wouldn't recommend it.

Ewww, the more I read about them, I want on!!! lol.

sounds like a good plan. ive read that they are very hardy and not likely to get disease. i read into it more and decide but im thinking it sounds like a good plan. what kind were you thinking of?

I agree with everyone about it being too many fish. I have a 75. I think you could make it work if you worked really hard and are experienced. I wouldnt want to be a fish in there though. I am currently starving my mandarin. I had a million pods and then I got a six line wrasse and that was the end of them. Havent seen one in two months. I am now culturing tigger pods in four ten gallon tanks to feed it.

Dude, if you ever want to get rid of the mandarin or the sixline, let me know! :)

I agree with everyone above, that seems like a lot of fish for a 75. You would have to do so many water changes... Especially when you add coral!
