What is best additive to lower PH?

I need to lower the PH of some fresh water. What is the best thing to use?

I've used a combination of "Alkaline Buffer" and "Acid Buffer", from SeaChem. Despite what you might think, according to the directions you need to use them both rather than just the acid buffer... at least if the fresh water is not well buffered, I think.

Yes, I concure (sp?) thats what it says on the back of the bottle.

What is the pH of the freshwater, and how are you measuring it?

Is it ro/di water? If so don't worry the test is invalid.

Driftwood! The tannis (sp) is supposed to lower the ph, but turns the water brown. I've also hear of people using peat (sp again)
