What is the most reliable evap top off system

ok Don you really jumped into this one. Now you have to show us how to do this right and reliablely, and you have to make it simple enough for those who just tinker with electricty to understand. You lucky dog you. I think every aquarist ponders and seldom understands the whole auto top off system. Don show us the way.

My opinion on top off systems is very much against the grain. First of all a low voltage system is great for automation controllers since they are a low volt system. For a basic top off system, tapping into the black/hot lead of a aqualifter is more than fine. The claims that they are unsafe is absolute bs. As of now the float switches at floatswitches are to small although they can handle the wattage just fine. One thing about floats that no one looks at is SG small ones are great for rodi tanks but terrible in the sump with sw at 1.026.
Ok thats my ramble, if you need a schematic let me know if you want ac or dc.

I looked at the JBJ system again for $99 and then the Ultrlife for $59. But you think the Aqualifter and two floatswitches is reliable enough? What floatswitch would you buy...floatswitches.net?
