What is this?

This has started growing in my tank is it some type of algea and is it good or bad. it looks pretty cool being bright red and all.

it appears that it may be a species of Halymenia. Good or bad depends on if you like it or not . I wouldnt consider it a nuisence. I dont know of anyone ever having issues with it getting out of control. Its often short lived in our tanks

I agree that it's halymenia. Adds a nice splash of colour. I keep a bunch in my refugium.

Thanks alot yeah i think it looks great growing really really quickly too, but within reason
