What is this?

Recently, after a lighting upgrade these started sprouting on one of my rocks. Any ideas what they could be or where ot look to research them? I tried the ID area on this site but its pretty vast.

I believe that it is rhodophyta red algae.

I guess this is good news. At least it's not slime or hair algae. As long as it doesn't take over my tank, I guess it can stay for now

It will stay until you put a tang in your tank. It seems to be very beneficial to a tank. So see what you can keep growing.
