Here is the deal. i got a new 6' tank my old one was only 4' and i dont have the $$$ to buy a 6' fixture. so im thinking about gettin a par38 led light. like the ones in the link. which one should i get and you know any other website or anything that offers stuff like that?

Keep in mind when you see the term 'PAR38' they are refering to the general shape of the fixture and little more, the spectrums and power are all over the board. The exotic are pretty much ripping off evil66's idea with them, and I think you can get them for less than the listed price there. The last one I don't know that I would bother with except as actinic supplement, but thats me.

lol yeah. i just went thru all that on another post. i saw a bunch of par38's on ebay for cheap and thought i hit the gold mine until i asked on here. so now im going to go to an actual aquarium store. lol Any ideas on where else to look or maybe even another option?

the nanotuners.com PAR38 was the first big reef-designed PAR38 fixture. It has high quality american manufactured diodes in it and is designed with enough heat dissipation to not shorten the life of the LEDs. The ecoxotic one ripped it off and probably is similar build quality.

The rest of them you get what you pay for. I would not spend >$100 on a PAR38 unless I was buying from nanotuners.

I would try and match it closer to your current lighting If you have it pretty blue now, then 20K, more white 12K
