I have a 60 gallon tank with a blue overflow box built in. I would like to paint my background to match the color. I was wondering what paint should I use for it?

I've never painted the back, but I have bought colored acrylic and attached it either to the outside or even on the inside of the tank:)

I used latex paint on all of my tanks but you want to apply like 4-7 thin layers of paint. The reason i say this is that if you put it on to thick it will dry and crack. You will be able to see the cracks when you are looking at the tank too. I also would suggest using a small roller to paint the back of the tank. It took me 5 coats to do my 210 and it looks really good.

Good Luck and show us the finished product!

The last few tanks I used the krylon spray also.
And it is very important to take your time and do it in many coats.

i used some rustoleum semigloss plastic/wood aerosol paint. 2 coats is about all you need for about 1 mil thick. after that I'll add some krylon high gloss top coat. i've painted glass, metal, plastic, rubber you name it,i've painted it. but I was using high$ paints w/guns. the spray paint you can pick up at home depot or anywhere for that matter, should work just as well. for small applications. i probably wouldn't use the same method for anything bigger than 50g.
