instant ocean. i have been using this salt for 15 years. i buy in bulk and get it shipped to my house

I buy Kent Reef Salt for 44.95 from Drs. F&S and always find something for 5 more $ and they ship it free to my front door. When I lived in an apartment the guy carried it up 3 flights of stairs. It about killed him off. Free shipping for any purchase of $49, including salt...anything.

I bet your UPS guy doesn't like you. lol

I started my first saltwater tank with Instant Ocean ( 1985) and have been using it ever since.
I do use Reef Crystals in my 50.

i really don't understand. it starts out with fedex. then goes to my local post office. my old mail girl wouldn't deliver it. she said it was to heavy and i had to go to the post office and pick it up there. my new mail man is a old guy. he said he didn't care. i meet him at the end of my drive way and help him move them

Fedex Smart Post
Fedex does the long hops, and drops it at the post office for local delivery.

It has something to do with the program called "smart mail".
When I order my salt like you do, in the checkout part there is a question that asks if the address can get US Mail.

I have tried a few different brands. The price of instant ocean (regular or crystals) on the Internet is hard to beat. Its what im currently using. I used oceanic for years. Oceanic dissolves fast, clear, & you get a big bucket. I use brightwell products but their salt was expensive by comparison when it came out. The price has come down & I tried a few buckets. I didnt care for how long it takes to dissolve or the lack of 200 gallon size. People have had great sucess with all the salts listed.

Cheapest I have found is the Kent Reef Salt, dissolves fast and great numbers. It is the only salt I will ever use.

I think I may try the Kent reef salt, barrier uses it and seems to do just fine for them.

Since I voted on this a few years ago I have switched to Red Sea Pro. It turns out that when you can get it for 55$ a bucket its hard to pass up. Also I started a new tank so can't really compare a whole lot exepct my magnesium seems to be more stable then when I used Aquavitro in my old tank.
