The problem with glass is that I imagine the sand would just get on top of it and eventually get buried anyway. Basically, you need to prop the coral up enough so that there's a comfortable distance between the sand to the edges of the coral. If you don't like egg crate, try an appropriately sized rock or chuck of dead coral skeleton to epoxy it onto.

I took a sample to KevinPo and he tested [email protected], ph was 8.1, and the likely source of my issues, alk was at 6.x. I am dosing buffer to slowly bring that up; the brain's tissue is still receeding, but it looks like it has slowed. I havent had enough time for the dose to take effect just yet, so we will see where we are at in a few days. Thanks everyone for all the help
