I have these green star polpys(sp) they are like a skin. I bought them as a frag. They look like grass. Will they attach themselves at some point? I want to clean my live rock with a power head but it looks like they are just getting established. Oh darn! answered my own question maybe.

but help! deal with a few nitrates and just change water maybe?
I got these great frags and I wil not put superglue in my tank. Ok Ok I AM PREDJUICED AGAINST SUPERGLUE AT THIS MOMENT!

Superglue gel works well. The only draw back is that it sticks to your fingers. As to nitrates and cleaning your rock. Clean the rock use a tuckey baster to be more careful. nitrates are you feeding anything if so cut back on the food. Do water changes. Check your replacement water for nitrates.

:D  ok mm but even though my goal is " always lower than 20ppm nitrates" sometimes I see flucations up to 40's.

What was the topic? h ehe:D
Well anyways

um what was the question? Oh ok fish health? My fish are healthy and my birds defiy the odds. My vet asks me what I do. I Do what the guy that has had a tank for 35 years does.

Thanks for answering.

oh the specific question. How do you know when a montipora C. plating is dying and will not recover?

Serious question for a newbie to sps.
thanks in advance.

about the superglue? It probably works great but I am going to see if these star polyps (which are wedged between some live rock ) won't just attach themselves.

large grin
who know?

i used the green rubberband that was on the top of the lfs bag to attach my gsp's to a chunk of rubble.

but returnofsid I would HAVE to vaccume(sp darn, I hate that word, should just go ahead and learn it. But anyway) guess I'll just suck the s**T out of my SSB (that would be shallow sand bed) and Turkey baster my rocks.

OOOOORRRRrrr maybe I could just change some water this week?

you don't have to super glue if you don't want to but then you'd have to keep your frag in an area with low flow so they can attach doodette ....but it takes for ever and you have to be careful they don't go flying every water change :p .
About your nitrates ..just water change ...i like doing big ones ...to me i feel like it does wonders .

I Do what the guy that has had a tank for 35 years does.

so you're feeding them bananas:confused: ........... j/k .

you know a monti is dying when in 2 days just bleaches i'm sure there's more ways but that's the only one i can think of doodette :p

If monti is dying, frag off good part. If you don't like super glue, use epoxy stick, but not on GSP

monti cap.
I have this really georgeous piece I don't deserve. I have read everything I can find. I WANT THIS SPS IN MY TANK.
Help.

ok i'm lost doodette do you have it or not? .
if you don't, i'd first work on your water parameters to make sure everything is good, then later get the monti.
If you already have it, then big water changes are a good key (at least to me), make sure you blow off sand (if you got any) because it like to sit on the monti ... i usually have to blow off mine every other day.
this are one of the easy sps to keep so you shouldn't have to much trouble just work on making your water good and you'll be fine :)

My nitrates are goin' down. Did a big water change (for me) 12 gal in a 55 gal. and yes I DO already have the frags. Two are doing well (the red/tan ones) but the really thin curly pink one is struggling. and it actually HAS attached to my LR. YAY

Thanks for the answers!!! I really appreciate them.
