Where to buy Peppermint shrimp for aiptasia anemones

Got some aiptasia anemones in my tank recently (thanks for Coral Beauty). I bought a peppermint shrimp from Petco, but it doesn't pay any attention to the aiptasia anemones, so I guess it's not the correct type of shrimp.
Could someone recommend a place to buy peppermint shrimps that are really useful for aiptasia anemones?

Aiptasia can be an annoyance. I had a real problem on some live rock, and purchased Peppermint Shrimp from Premium Aquatics (also a sponsor). They cleaned up the aiptasia, but can be hit or miss. You may find the information contained in this post helpful: Let's Talk About ~Pests~ - single post. I now have them only in one of my overflows. I'm glad that the shrimp have been keeping the tank clean.

As for where the aiptasia originated from (not sure if you were saying Coral Beauty is responsible?), as Anthony Calfo once posted.....

Nobody "gets infected" by someone elses coral, too... we "infect" our own systems by poor or absent QT procedure.

I chuckle every time someone complains "X LFS" or "X aquarist" "gave me" "X predator or nuisance organism"

At some point we have to take responsibility as conscientious human beings.

I do not fault new aquarists that have not heard of QT before at all.

I do(!) however fault seasoned aquarists that read hobby literature at length (message boards, mags, books, hobby clubs) yet still buy creatures they do not know if they can keep (big Naso tangs, azooxanthellate corals, etc) or do not QT out of sheer laziness.

It just boggle my mind that anyone would set up a tank worth thousands of dollars and risk the lives of countless creatures and the success of their tank all for not wanting to spend $50 on a QT tank and have 4 weeks of patience.

Oh, I was not complaining about Coral Beauty. I just mentioned it as a fact. Basically the purpose of this post is to find a solution instead of complaining. I believe there is a way to solve the problem, so I will still buy things from them later.
As for QT tank, I don't think $50 is enough for saltwater tank. If anyone can give a budget list of $50 for QT tank, I will be surprised. See, to keep a coral in a QT tank for 4 weeks or more, the price for the equipments is quite high, right?
Thanks for the reply. May I ask how many shrimps do you keep? Maybe one is not enough?

I have 3 in a 120gallon. I ironically found an aiptasia in my 12gallon nano a little bit ago, so I'll head over to Premium Aquatics and pick up another small one. Hopefully, it will do the trick.

As for QT tank, I don't think $50 is enough for saltwater tank. If anyone can give a budget list of $50 for QT tank, I will be surprised. See, to keep a coral in a QT tank for 4 weeks or more, the price for the equipments is quite high, right?

$50 may be a bit low but most people already have what is needed. Rubbermaid tub, PH, CF or PC light, little hang on filter and heater. Doesnt have to be pretty, just needs to hold water.

I put 8 Pepps in our 450 and in a few days all the Apitasia were gone. If only it were that easy to get rid of Majanos! And people sell those little creeps as Flower Anenomes

Is Majanos so bad? I have one on the rock which also carries those aiptasia anemones in, but my wife likes that green color, so I even tried to feed it with some small thrimp.
I might just buy more peppershrimps and hope I will have some luck. One seems not enough, even though my tank is only 55G.

Yes! They will sting the daylights out of other corals! And they spread like wildfire! Joes Juice does pretty good, but not always.

A syringe and thin kalk paste made boiling hot in the microwave kills the d#$% things. I also hear lemon juice but have never tried because I just really enjoy the thought of boiling ph 12 water burning and causticly burning the S&!% out of them. Just my 2 cents. Steve

Not all peppermints work all the time. I have 3 or 4 in my 90 gallon. When I spotted an aiptasia in my overflow, I wasn't worried. I had peppermints, right? Anthony Calfo's book mentions an aiptasia scrubber so I thought, why not. I now have 3 or 4 aiptasia in my 90 gallon (the peppermints did keep most of them under control) and about 20 in my sump. Last week, I drained my overflow (the aiptasia had really multiplied and filled the overflow) and filled it a few times with hot, fresh water. I think I got all the ones in there!! Now I am working on the lr in the sump with thin kalk paste/vinegar.

FWIW - I find the aiptasia really seem to multiply when I am feeding lots of brine shrimp/rotifers. They must like them.

i total got rid of mine, which was pretty serious, used some Joe's Juice, realized it was too pain staking. then bought a couple peppermint shrimps from Blue Sierra, and now they are all gone, forever!
