in the U.S. ... hmm

Florida or Miami (Disney is there ... yuuhuu :p !!! and you can go meet Ron and nag him too  )

If you want to stay in the US i would suggest the Florida Keys. Not a whole lot to do but very peaceful and relaxing. Plus the fishing down there is great. Family wise its a little boring but i loved it as a kid so... If you wanted to go outside the US i would suggest staying at a plalce resort in Cancun, Mexico. They are all inclusive so you never need your wallet after you get to the hotel everying is free even room service. Plus the service is amazing! I was never a big fan of disney only because i think the prices they charge are outrageous.

HTH

Miami...So I can throw a rock from here and bonk you on the head

watch out with the rocks .

you can always visit the aquarium there :D .

Screw the Shedd aquarium i can give you two LFS in the chicago area that are more exciting than the shedd aquarium and you won't get raped on the an entry fee or have to stand in a long line. When are you headed to my neck of the woods?

Honestly i never stayed there but i also have never heard of a bad hard rock hotel so i would say you'll be fine. Hopefully by the time you get here the weather will be nicer.
