25 years ago, today, I was a junior in high school, DJing from our high school radio station. I was watching the space shuttle Challenger launch, while also reporting it, on the air. It was the first, and only time, any of my listeners heard silence, which was bad in radio. I vividly remember that silence, it lasted a long time. Then I remember the exact words I said, as I reported the tragedy of the Challenger exploding. It was such a surreal experience. I still remember the grief I felt, in the pit of my stomach.
Let's all remember the 7 men and women, to bravely journeyed into space, that morning, and the tragedy that struck all of America, on this day, 25 years ago.
