I am looking for a HOB for my heavy load 60 gallon reef.

Here is the 2 I am considering and would like a feedback if anyone have experience with these. Thanks in advance

Octopus Hang-on-Back BH-100F [OCT-BH100F] $154.95

SWC BH 100F Protein Skimmer [BH 100F] $189.99
Octopus BH 800S Hang on Back Protein Skimmer $224.95

You should buy mine - http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56055 BH 300F (2 pumps!) $150 if you are shopping around and decide on the octopus

I have an HOB Octopus for my 40g tank at work and it does a great job; I would definitely look into getting one.

i would personally get either the SWC extreme hob, which u mentioned was out of your budget,
or for less money (and about half the power) you should get one of these over any octo skimmers

any decent HOB for a larger tank is going to be expensive.

also, is there any reason why you cant just do a rubbermaid container for a inexpensive sump and get a better skimmer for less money???

was hoping you would have a good deal on SWC BH 100F Protein Skimmer [BH 100F]

space is limited in the cabinet and I can only fit a small sump, I don't have the auto water level thing, I manually add 1 gallon of water each day so the water level is not consistent which make it hard on the in-sump to work well.

If I get the HOB, the sump would act as a refugium

Ok, thanks. Do you know if you are going to have some more anytime soon?
yeah, i had a couple SWC bh-100f's but sold them all. :(

just make sure you buy the new model with the OTP 1000 pump!!!!
do not, i repeat, do not but the older versions with resun pumps.
