Opinions on Nano tanks, which would you purchase & why?

I already had a RedSea Max 34g & loved it but want to go even smaller!

So what would you suggest?:confused::confused::confused:

for an AIO, i too like the AP24,
the BBQ skimmer i keep forgetting to scoop from you would fit perfect in there
if you did the ap24 w/ the sunpod.

or you could just choke up the $1700 for the elos 20g AIO(sortof):)

but i almost prefer not doing AIO nano's...
that way you could spend your money on a really nice WM/SWC/deltec hob skimmer,
tunze nanostream pump, and say a nice tek/giesemann t5 light fixture,
then you'd have a really sweet little setup...you could hang the light fixture,
and have a nice topless custom nano made to your dim's,
skimmer w/ no pump in the tank, put the heater in the skimmer body,
and only 1 small tunze pump for flow on a black back would look saweeet!

+1 on Mark's comments.

Julia and I have two nanos - a 30-gallon custom-built SPS tank and an Oceanic 30-gallon soon-to-be-seahorse cube tank.

The SPS tank has a 12-gallon display section plus a six gallon sump and a six gallon refugium built in. I wish that I had more display space, but the large sump and refugium are nice. It operates like an AIO tank, but I have plenty of flexibility on what equipment to use with this tank.

The 30-gallon cube tank is running with a Deltec MCE600 hang-on skimmer and a 24" Current Sundial T5 fixture. This tank offers me flexibilty of equipment use as well.

The commercial AIO tanks are very popular, but they do limit the use of equipment on them. Then again, there is some AIO-specific equipment out there, and some pretty cool DIY projects to modify stock AIO tanks.

I would buy a solana. I'm not a fan of the seamless cubes as the corners distort the image so much it's pointless. They basically defeat the purpose that they were designed for. I think solana's are absolutely gorgeous and the black silicone makes it look that much more cool. If i did buy a seamless it would be a RSM 34 gallon though, always thought that tank looked awesome. Another tank i really like are the Cadlight setups, basically huge pico look alikes with AIO filtration.

The RSM absolutely doesn't distort on the rounded corners, also the glass is way thicker construction on the RSM & the back divider chamber is the same thickness but black glass. This makes the only tank of that type like this, the rest is all plastic. I measured the glass thickness on all of them, RSM is about 2mm thicker than most of them. Unless you get to an ELOS or higher or similar will you find thicker glassed tanks.
The question is I want to go Smaller than 34G, so that eliminates a bunch of tanks.

I'm a fan of the Aquapod 24, thanks to the Allen family. The sunpod 150W is the way to go, plus the aftermarket for accessories on the AP 24 is decent.

I pieced together my own little nano and I love it!! I bought the ada 18g tank, an ati light, stealth heater, hob cpr fuge, and a mp20 vortech pump and that is how I am going to run it. Everything is set up I am just waiting to add the saltwater today!

Yep, i think the RSM is the best looking of the seamless tanks.

I do the samething, typically a AGA tank and large filter to convert to a fuge. The ADA tanks are awesome :)
