I have several quiet one pumps and have had nothing but great experince with them. I have 2 mag drive pumps and I have had nothing but great experince with them as well. Both are a quality product.
I like the Q1s better but that is just a personal thing.

Any tip’s for keeping a mag 9.5 quiet

Hi Rob I had a real noise issue with a Mag drive 24 boy they let you know when they Run. I finely put a computer rubber mouse pad under mine and its has been working very well now for 2 years.
Did your mag drive come with the little Rubber pad?

Actually I don’t own one yet, but if they’re anything like my two smaller mag drives then I’m sure it will be the same issue... vibration
I wasn’t sure if they come with any kind of mounting attachments like the smaller ones do or not.
Do those mouse pads deteriorate at all after a while? I’d be a little leery of them leaching something back into the water.

I like the quiet one because it is so quiet, it comes with a pad, its easy to clean, and use, it can be external or internal both with saltwater instead of internal only like the the mag. I like the low profile design, and the water flow per watt of power is very good. I like the impeller design, and the housing design. I know mag can be used external with salt h20 but the company does not recomened it. Also I have seen a number of mags melt when ran dry for a little while and never seen a melted quiet one. That does not mean it does not happen, just that I have not seen it. I also like the price.

Both pumps work fine, which I know isn't much of an answer. There was a rust problem on the old external Quiet One pumps years ago due to a lower grade stainless shaft; but these new pumps are a completely different design, and as far as I know corrosion hasn't been an issue.
