I am thinking of buying a wavemaker to control 3-4 powerheads. I was wondering what everyone else was using and how they liked them.

I use a WavemasterPro and really like it. Especially the "feed' button. I have my WavemasterPro set up to control 3 powerheads, and the fourth outlet powers my return pump. For feeding, the main pump and two of the powerheads are turned off. Thirty minutes later everything comes back on. I can feed before I leave in the morning, and don't have to worry about turning the return pump back on.

I am using and have for a long time now, the Natural wavemaker strip. You can use up to 4 power heads and it also has 2 extra non wavemaking plugs.

Don, I really am looking into a WavemasterPro. My convalescing copperband is having a hard time chasing it's mysis across the 180g. The feed mode you mention would be great.

Katchupoy,
I was looking at that controller, but I can't find anyone who has used them. At that price I would put one in my 60 and my 10. :) Let me know how it works out.

I just ordered it from here --- http://www.djtronix.com/chsf24chti.html

free shipping and all. 29.99 total charges.

looks like what i've been wanting to get for a long time. i'm going to move away from powerheads once i redo my tank but for now i have them and thought this was the best thing so far i've found to use as a wavemaker. seems pretty durable and all as well.

i'll give a review once i get it.

This is a great choice IMO. Like I said before on older post that SCWD are great for small tanks. But on bigger tanks you need at least 2 or more... So if you have big tanks, wavetimer is the best. So you can actually calculate the speed of the water movement from left side to right side, so that will be your duration from on and off...

Hey Katchupoy I sent you an PM a few days ago. did ya get it?

i can't wait to get the new toy. this timer looks really kewl. i am going to have to get another maxijet though.

Here is a new product that will be out next week. Very interesting device if you use the revolution device with it.

Very interesting device! I was going to machine out something similar to the smaller version, but the special tools (reamer, etc.) would cost me more than buying one of these.

Looks like an improved version of a rotating ball valve. Synchronous motor to turn the central disk section around at a contstant rate. Depending upon the how the central plug is drilled, it can direct flow into one or more outlets at a time. I am a bit concerned about the corrosion protection for the synchronous motor (it would be really nice to be able to mount the small version of the valve inside the hood, but I am worried about salt spray).

I already have pipe outlets installed in my rockwork, but they are now fed by powerheads connected to the outlets by flexible tubing. The powerheads hide behind the rockwork, and are controlled by a wavemeker. The problem is that it is a bit of a pain to access the powerheads for cleaning. If I could use a device like this, with a small external bump inside the hood, I could have easy access to the pump, but not have to run a bunch of new plumbing.
