Gabby, I give the hawks a bad time; but I really am a fan. After years of hoping though it gets a bit frustrating. I had hopes again after Paul Allen bought them, but so far not a lot has happened. Oh well, there's always next year! :) I used to go to Sonics games, but I have a hard time paying attention since they fired George Karl. That was the dumbest thing they've ever done. They should have sacked Payton and kept Karl, they might have actually won after Jordan left the league.

These days I'm a diehard boxing fan. It doesn't matter which country they're from, as long as I like the way they fight I'm a fan. I tend to like boxers from Mexico in fact. Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, and of course Julio Cesar Chavez. American boxers are worried about getting paid, getting hurt, whining about their lack of respect, etc. Mexican, Irish and British fighters just get in there and fight, no excuses.

Way to go White Sox!

Growing up a few hours north of Chicago, we still had plenty of Cubs fans. During the 80's at least, it was sort of cool to be a long-suffering Cub fan. Not the Sox, they were just some other team, no one was cool for liking them.

I couldn't be happier that the White Sox won.
No offense meant to the Cubs, but I smile extra big for the Sox fans who were never `cool' being fans of a team that never won the pennant ... just long-devoted fans that every team dreams of having [what it's all about!].

Way to go White Sox, and way to go fans.
You might not have the neatest stadium in town, but you've got the best team :D

Clayton - I'm also a huge boxing fan. I used to watch the matches with my dad growing up. We still chat on the phone about fights we've watched on TV. ESPN has some classic boxing they play. I saw some Tyson fights a couple of weeks ago, and it was great to watch him again (as pre-psycho days), and listen to all the controversy again about how long he could truely last in the ring, if he didn't knock you out in the first few rounds. Also, a week or so before, they had on the old Ali fights. Now-a-days, I don't like watching the heavy weights. They seem to just be standing around hugging....a couple of punches, then hugging again. I like watching the smaller guys.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the lighter weights too. The three fights between Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward were the absolute best examples of what boxing is meant to be. Actually I was surprised by Ricky Hatton's destruction of Kostya Tszyu, but Hatton seems to be made of the right stuff.

In truth though there's nothing more exciting than a great heavyweight fight though. When Lennox Lewis was at his worst it was hard to stay awake, but in fights like Golota or even Tyson he was pretty entertaining. Holyfield was great in his prime, and of course Tyson was exciting. I'm not sure he'd do well against boxers like Joe Lewis, Foreman (in his prime), or Ali; but he made quick work of the losers who ventured into the ring with him.

I'd better quit now before I get into Jones vs. Tarver, lol

boxing... ohhh yeah i used to be a huge huge fan of boxing, i even used to go to boxing classes  , i always liked Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar de la hoya, and other mexican boxers but nowdays i don't watch it to much, or if i watch something it's usually when they show those Muhammad Ali fights or the contender.

I grew up on the west side of Chicago and my brother is a cubs fan I am a SOX fan, go figure! I watched the games on TV and cheered as loud as I could so my brother could hear me back in Chicago. I have lived away for so long I don't have any SOX gear anymore but I let people know where the heart lies!
