This is kind of embarrasing :oops: , but I have to find this individual...I have forgotten your name (I haven't been around so many passionate reefkeepers in awhile and my head was abuzz-yikes) You kindly brought the cheato bags for any to take with (I was looking for mysis in the bags), and we talked briefly about your natural filtration methods, your experience with higher pH swings using reverse lighting on your cheato fuge, and of your sub-substrate area for squirts, tunicates, and sponges-Please drop a line I'd love to 'talk shop' even though I'm coming up short in the name dept...:confused: :rolleyes: :D
 
I am pretty sure his username is "physics"? I got some cheato form you as well! Thanks for the contribution to my tank =)

You won't be able to reach Luke on this forum anymore. He got a little overzealous trying to make a point (I think on a lighting issue) and managed to get himself banned. Hopefully it's only temporary. I miss him.
 
no kidding-thats kinda funny...I spose I'll just have to say hi again at the next meeting. These folks are cracking me up with this 'craig's list' bit...

So what was the thread that got him banned? I always enjoyed his perspective, even if I didn't understand or agree with all he said. I too hope it is temporary.

The thread was closed. Luke's main problem is that he has the ability to think outside the box more than most, but not always the patience to explain things in the way he wants it understood. I don't always agree with him either, that's for sure, but he's definately one of my favorite people here on RF.

I wonder how long these bans last...

Definitely a good guy. His strong-minded opinions about certain topics is what makes this hobby cool and interesting. I don't think he means any negativity at all towards any person, but that the view he expresses make it seem so.

I always believe that an opinion is an opinion. Your opinion maybe different than mine. That's why it's called an opinion.

Anyway, I vote for an unban. I will talk about clownfish more, too. :D

I agree with you guys on Luke being a very intelligent person that contributed a lot to the hobby. He is a very very smart guy always willing to offer his help and advice whether we all agree with his methods or not. However...There are certain ways you go about presenting/doing certain things and I guess he let it get the best of him sometimes. I know a lot of people don't see all the posts that go on here, but I've seen quite a few "bad" ones made that aren't up more than 5 minutes before they are removed by a mod because of it's content that is completely un-called for (which could cause a lot of problems had anyone seen them) and I guess with stuff like that happeneing from time to time, it gets a bit much to bare with when a person is repeatedly warned about such posts. Tis a shame it had to happen, but the fact that it did, means that there was a legit reason behind it because RF hardly bans anyone...Just a thought:)
 
Wow Luke got banned..I missed the thread. I met him a couple times in person while he was out helping people late on his own busy time, thats too bad ..... he's a nice if not outspoken guy
 
Too bad he got banned, I always wanted to ask him if he slept with chaeto under his pillow.

Seriously, he is very smart, just needs to let up on the gas a bit and let people make their own decisions. I do miss him around here though and was nice to see him at our meeting recently. Or was I remembering last year....
