Not to be a downer on such a great holiday....but I had to work on T-day....no biggie I usually do, but of all the 911 calls I had to get today, it had to be a DOA call.....Went to a 82 year old guys house who's 78 year old wife passed away while cooking their Thanksgiving dinner...they'd been married for 58 years .......He thought she'd just passed out.There was nothing the aid guys or we could do for her, and it sucked to have to tell him she was gone....I've seen a lot of bad stuff, but this one kind of got to me a bit. .......Let me just say that I hope all of you make the best of every second of your lives, and don't take anything or one for granted.

Gosh Stan that sucks big time. I worked today too but nothing like that.
Look at it this way...at least they were together for 58 years. That is incredible by todays standards. I could only hope that I could find that kind of love and loyalty in my lifetime. It is truly sad for her husband that a holiday is the day that took her but he will cherish all those 58 years together.

I am sorry that it takes things like this to make us step back from our busy lives to realize some of the most important things are the friends and family that are right their in front of our noses and we forget to tell them that we love them and appreciate them but just assume that they know.

Stan, sorry your holiday got off to a real bad start. I feel for you. You are right, cherish every second! A guy that I work just shot his wife, then himself. His wife is still here, in critical condition, but it looks like she will make it. I worked with this guy for 20+ years, never saw it coming. Be thankful that you are alive and healthy. I know where you are coming from.

Sorry Stan, JMHO we only get to borrow people from God, Its a shame to go on thanksgiving, though they did have 58 years together. Thats more than I could imagine. Thank you for what you do, even though its not often said, we appriecate you. Steve
