winter is upon us time to make preperations

I had a guardian generator installed a couple years ago. It is so worth it. Its been needed a couple times. Thankfully not for too long. I have WA Energy come out and do the maintenance on it every year about this time. I have it set to do its test run every saturday afternoon when I am home, so I know how well its running.

I think I have generator envy.

I just had a panel put in with the plug for the generator on the side of the house. Last winter I picked up a 6800/8500 RIDGID generator and just ran extensions cords all over the place. Now I just plop it on the side of the house plug it in and the tank, tv, fridge and furnace can all hum along.

I was reminded yesterday that a generator is a necessity. We had a storm roll in with high winds and our power went out at 7am monday morning. I had to leave the house at 8:30 and the power was still not on. However my generator kicked in within 20 seconds of the power outage and was running the whole house still when I left. I didnt get home till 8 pm but no worries.
