welcome to RF.

I'm sorry to hear about your xenia problem, what's wrong? have you checked your ph ?
have you been adding any iodine without testing?
Any pictures would be good.

I keep xenias in my tank, i believe the ph should be around 8.2- 8.4 .

here's a little info on the xenias

There's also people that like to add iodine to their tanks because it suppose to help the xenia, if you do, make sure you are testing because you don't want to exede 0.06 ppm.
I don't do that, so i can't tell you to much about it, sorry dood:oops: .
Here's a thread on how to post pictures if you ever wanna do that

I believe that as long as you are doing your water changes your xenia would be fine... just my opinion :) .

Add iodine. For a novice, pick up a solution called "tech I" or really any iodine solution you can dig up I supose, but be careful about OD'ing.

I have seen xenia thrive in water with 60ppm nitrate, so I dont belive thats part of the problem at all. If you did a water change and the xenia improved a bit, I belive it was because the new salt mix contained a bit of Iodine in it which they needed.

Gotta act fast on this, you only have about a 1-2 day window from the time it acts funny until it melts down like it never existed.

I hope this helps you.

As said before, use some Iodine. My favorite method for adding this is lugol's. Use ONLY 1 drop per 25g of tank water. This contains Iodine and Iodide, it should help immediately. Other than that, do you know what your alkalinity and calcium levels are?

From my experince w/xenia....I have noticed they love water quality with a high mineral content....!!!

i'm glad your xenias are fine now.
If you go with adding iodine, don't forget to get an iodine test and don't add without knowing where you are at.
