Does anybody have a yellow eye kole tang? I have one he only seems to grase on the rocks and eats mysis, doesn't like flakes. What do you feed yours?
Im asking because he looks skinny.

Best to train tangs to eat dried kelp, as in sheet Nori. Air dried is best.
Put a small piece on an algae clip and let it graze throught the day

Mine is fat-n-happy and readily eats Ocean Nutrition brand Brown & green algae on a clip but definately prefers the Brown Algae. Twice a day I feed my fish 1/2 cube ea frozen Mysis, Brine Shrimp w/ Spirulina and 50/50 Blood Worm-Brine Shrimp & Mysis and it eats it all. I originally purchased the Kole Tang from WPH to keep the dark maroon colored algae on LR in check and he has done a good job of it as this is a natural diet for the Bristle Tooth Tangs.

Sorry I didn't check this thread, next time pm me.
You can clip it or I rubberband it to a suction cup, using tiny hair rubberband.

work on presenting the nori in a way the tang will naturally eat it... i.e. he grazes on rocks all day, so rubberband it to a small rock so it covers the rock up.

ive gotten many kole's to eat nori using this method.... they will wait until it softens up a bit, but before you know it the rock will be clean.

Yah Ive never had to train a tang or a foxface to eat the nori. Just clip it in the tank somewhere, and they will come taste it eventually.

Find a small piece of rock from your tank about 1"-2"... take a small sheet of Nori (3"x3") fold it in half, place the rock length-wise along the Nori, around the middle. Use a rubber band to secure the Nori to the rock. Place it in the tank on the sand or bottom. Hasn't failed me yet. Just remember to remove the floating excess Nori and rock from the tank around the 3hr mark until you learn how much they will consume.

Also, most Tangs & Angels (Med-to-Lrg) typically like to eat about 3 times a day... although some will graze on algae found on rock.
