Yellow Tang moving in jerky motion. Acts like something biting him, stops jerks 2" to 3" stops swims in circle then jerks again. He has been doing this for hours. Anyone had this happen and what is cause?

you need to check your water parameters immediately!!!!!!..if they are ok, you could check for stray voltage...how long did the tank cylce for????

Tank 8 weeks old, Just starting to add livestock. Water tests safe to ideal on all tests. SG 1.025. 2 clowns, blenny, mystery wrass, 2 watchman gobies and a Tang in 250gal with 250lbs of LR. Other fish seem ok.

alot of times, tangs can be a prewarning sign for water quality problems...are there any ammonia or nitrites showing up on your tests at all???

Water tests safe to ideal on all tests.
No offense but this tells us nothing. The more detailed your information to us, the more accurate narrowing down a cause and possible remedy will be.

Please post the numbers for:
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate
pH
Alkalinity
Temp

Have any of these additions been quarantined prior to adding to your display?

A problem electrical device as Ron points out is definately a possibility.
Do you have an amp meter or are you using a GFCI?

The tang may also be reacting to the "newness" of this tank. At two months, you really should not be adding anykind of sensitive species. That wrasse is definately a mistake your wallet may end up sorely regreting. For the short term at least, please consider more hardier additions at this early stage of your tanks developement. Once it has had time to mature and tsabalize, these types of species you desire can be aded in a much safer environment.

Cheers
Steve
