Not really Mac, if you have the ability to process water then you should be ok, if you dont then WC's are still very viable. I get rrace elements from the calcium reactor media and also from an additive I shoot in occasionally. I also end up having to add a bit of ASW mix from time to time because of salt creep.

Mike one last question if you don't mind. Do you or anyone else for that matter try to set your tank up with certain locations in mind for things like salinity and additives? For instance, the red sea which has a higher salinity and different chemicals in the water than say the carribean? Thanks Mac

All the chemicals are the same, just at different concentrations. NSW follows the Law of Equal Proportions, which means for example, the Mg to Ca ratio is the same at 30 ppt as it is at 40 ppt, which is 3.15 to 1. So the Red Sea has more Mg and Ca but the ratio is still 3.15 to 1. The only thing that may be different are pollutants. This law is some thing a reef tank will never follow, as it can't, for obvious reasons.
