We are happy to announce that we are now selling ZeroEdge Aquariums! Anyone who has been to the trade shows for the last couple of years have seen how cool these tanks are. They make wonderful clam tanks, or any other setup for a biotope that is desireable for top viewing, and just give you an entirely new look to your reef.

Thanks,

These look so beautiful. The only thing that keeps coming to mind is corraline and algae on both sides of the glass now. It just seems to double at least parts of the maintenance. What's the reality, any long term users?

Thanks, Josh

I have been around these tanks for a long time.. Yes there are 2 sides to clean on each panel, but its very easy access. IMO they are as easy (or easier) as any other acrylic tank to clean.

I guess I hadn't thought about how easy the access is... When it's time to buy my display tank I'll have to check these out again. I like the open top Elos tanks as well, but the top-down viewing on the Zero-edge is nicer. FWIW I'd be most likely to look at the three-sided tank.

I'm guessing that if bought as a tank-only the tank comes with the bottom drain "skirt" that has one or more drain pipes going down into the stand area? I'd be doing a custom stand.

Thanks for the response!

Josh

That is correct, the tank would have the drain skirt with it, however I'm not sure what ZeroEdge would be willing to do on warranty without them building the stand for the unit.

I guess I'll see what's what when it's actually time to buy an aquarium (too far away!)

Thanks for the info!

Josh

wow, I was very impressed with your answer about the ballast and MH bulb. I will remember Premium Aquatics for sure now and in a good way.

I think these tanks are very cool looking. I see to many long term issues with it though for it to be a good aquarium. Two very good reasons are 1. air borne pollutants, from vacuuming, general house cleaning and 2. the desire to touch the water running outside the tank. this is not a tank for a house with kids.

LOL - or a house with cats??? :D

I love these tanks....I hope to have one eventually....when my child has a little more self control about touching livestock. Although...I could always make it a touch tank.... Hmmmmmmmmm

No different as far as pollutants than any other open top aquarium. I really see no concern for someone touching the water, their finger gets wet. Kids now thats another story. I think once they are old enough to talk they can be trained to leave things alone. I just lost my tank to the hands of my grandson but honestly it was more my own stupidity having a open sump with a 3 year old running around.
There are also advantages that make these well worth their weight.:)
