The ones I got from br I think had T5s over the tank. Now that I think of it, when I had T5s over my tank they never stretched.

Barrier Reef stop selling the bulbs because they do not warranty them. I bought some coralvue 20ks. should be in the mail soon. hopefully that works. color won't be as nice.

i used coralvue 20k before peter(in my sunpod too),but i didnt like color,it will be blue at first then after a while it will turn a bit pinkish one day then blue another day then a bit pinkish another day, maybe the bulb i got is defective..so i switched to phoenix 14k,i like it,just the blue that i wanted....u like bluer so i think u will like the phoenix 20k..just IME:)in my 55,i use 14k phoenix too sometimes i dont run the actinics...

oh yeah now i remember, they are t5's...i think when it comes to zoas they like t5,they look prettier..i bought an aog from somebody before and it was short stalks and color is neon pink very pretty, the guy had it on t5...then i put it in my tank and after weeks it starts reaching and having long stalks and color is fading...
now im thinking i should replace my vho lighting on my upcoming new tank to t5's...

btw marvins reef have nice aog's too and i think he's running t5...all his zoas are nice.

i put my AoG's high up the tank and they went like this...short stalks..that means they are reaching for light when they get long stalks...problem solve to me..hope yours too peter, any updates?
on the other hand my candy apple red is in the sandbed and have short stalk..i wonder why yours are reaching like that?
also radio actives are in sandbed too and have short stalks.

Still the same. I changed to XM 15k bulb. They are still reaching. Both AOG and Candy apple reds.

i put the AoG's within 10 inches to the surface...it took like a week for them to get short stalks..well i put them like in 3 different locations in the tank...
im using phoenix 14k 150w..
