Zoo swap?

Hey Zack, have those 'true blues' opened up yet? And what about those pinks I gave ya, nice huh? I would like to see a pic of the blues, and will be wanting a frag in 6 mo . I had a lot of fun seeing you guys, and meeting Achu and JoJo. I was nice to see and meet you guys. So I hope that everyone is happy. I am pretty happy for the price, and a big thanks to Reed for hooking us up with some of you zoo's, you are very generous, and I will get you back soon!

OK now the warning, I did find a couple Zoo eating nudi's on some of my zoo's from the order. It is important to hunt these bastards down, and remove them with a eye dropper or turkey baster. They breed profilically, and will descimate your nicest zoo's! They are tiny, and look like this

They look like a zoo kinda from the top view, and often take up the color of the zoo's they are eating!

Tom, what is the size of these little bastards...now that everything is setup in the tank am I going to have any chance of finding those if I've got them? Will they eat anything else in my tank besides the zoo's?

The blue zoos are looking good, it is a brown skirt with a lighter blue center.

Tom I did not see any of those but will look close. I wonder how they reproduce?

Reedman, the hydno is looking great! Thanks! Now you have lots of the orange/green since 2 of the frags we bought were the same. What do you think of the barbie pinks? Also, there might have been some green/blue eyed on one of the frags.

Zack, the plate coral isn't transitioning as well. It keeps inflating and deflating. I'm hoping that it will be happier in the morning. It seems traumatized by the transport and new surroundings. I remember your current being fairly strong. I've got it under medium current right now.

Reed, were those your green zoos? Those are really bright! I've got some about the same, but just not that bright.

In anycase, I had fun!

Wow, the zoas are looking great. Thanks again reed for the green zoas they are really nice! It was nice meeting everybody. Zack I hope your happy with the blues post a pic if you can. They might need a little bit to color up after being molved from vho's to halides. In my tank they are a royal blue with a tannish skirt. We should definitly do this again sometime if lost island ever becomes found. Achu and reedman I'll keep in touch as the blues grow out again.

These guys have some really nice zoas as well but kinda pricey. Would be a good for everyone to get a few blues if you dont feel like waiting though.

It will take the plate a good week to open fully. It is a very cool coral when it is open and in some current

Zack, thanks for letting me know. I couldn't figure out if the plate just didn't like where I put it, or if it got injured during transport or what. I'm glad to hear that it is reacting normally. It did look much better this morning, but still not close to what it looked like in your tank. It is really cool regardless!

Ooh, that aquadesignz site has got some great stuff! (and is a little pricey)

I can't wait to see all the cool stuff people are going to bring to the PSAS frag swap.

Thanks to everyone for sharing in the fun! I had a blast and came out with the diversity of color that I was looking for. You're all welcome for the greens. They are a nice bright green, especially under actinic...they spread like wild fire too.

Achu, The pinks are real nice! All opened up by the end of the everning. I'm glad the hydno transitioned well. It's a nice hardy coral. It will look fleshy when it's all poylped out. Then when they retract it looks real teal in color. Just don't let the other corals play with it....the'll lose.

Tom, Do those nudis look like the skirt of the zoos? I think I might have a couple, but I couldn't get them to release. I'll check tonight after work.

Glad we did this. Hopefully we can do it again another time...maybe some ricordias too.

Hey guys they kinda look like a zoo skirt. They should release when sucked on with a baster pretty easily. They reproduce by laying out little ribbons of eggs, and once that happens it is really hard to get rid of them! I have heard that flat worm exit works on them, but don't know for sure.

All the zoos I got yesterday in the trade are ALL open and looking VERY good!!! Best of all I can see!! Thanks for the help with scrpaing, you are all lifesavers!


Rainbow corals was the place I was talking about that is in ORG and where i get most of my zoos from, he ships them ground and get here the next day. Hey everyone, thought I'd post a couple pics of some of the zoos...they're looking pretty good, although some of them are not very colorful under my 7100K PC lights. Hopefully they'll brighten up as soon as I get them under some 250 watt 10K halides! Also, please excuse some of the photos as they're a little blury since I don't have a camera tripod to stand perfectly still for those closeup shots.

There is also a picture of the frogspawn Tom gave me...thanks man, it's doing great!

They're actually looking much better today, I didn't have the camera to take any photos but I'm seeing much more color than the day that I took these.
