Hi, somewhat new to the hobby and had a question about this argument I guess. I understand that leathers have a "chemical" warfare with the stones and now several people atr saying zoo and mushrooms will do the same. Just wondering thoughts about this?

First off, welcome to Reef Frontiers!! Almost all corals are capable of Aleopathy (Chemical warfare). Leathers are one of the bad ones. I've never heard of anyone having problems with Zoanthids or Mushrooms, unless they're actually touching. Running carbon and quality flow will help with this.

Welcome to the site! This is a great place and you should be able to teach and learn a lot. I haven't ever heard of zoo's and shroom's causing problems. I could be wrong but I have seen zoo's growing on the same base rock as several different types of coral. My LFS has green star polyps with a huge purple mushroom growing in the center.

Allright then ill continue to add zoos and mushrooms to my tank thank you
