I know alot of people use them, I personally don't use them or feel the need unless the water has particles floating around. I don't think they are "bad", just not something I want to have to change every couple days...

    I agree with Krish, I would remove that sock. Not only will it catch and kill your pods, but they are nitrate factories unless you clean them every couple days. It's not a bad idea to run after cleaning or water changes to catch stray particles.

    I agree, most good skimmers have an air releaf hole in the exhaust. If that get clogged or there isn't one then you will have problems

    the pump body should be fine, it works on magnetic fields. There is no actual contact with the body and the impeller. But if there are deep or raised scraches I would try to sand them down, just so the water can move more fluently.

    SPONGE, along with some aptasia(as everyone else has stated). Sponges are a great sign. The sponges would be great for a cryptic fuge. Take a peice of rubble and put it right on the aptasia, it will move(being an anenome) then throw the rubble away.

    Calcium is still high, 510ppm-Nitrates less than 5ppm(good considering all that has died), everything else is perfect- phos, ammonia, nitrites, all 0-pH is 8.2- dKH is 9 and salinity is alittle high 1.028 (my falt, I refilled my ATO and never turned it on, dumb ass I am sometimes)
