    Shipping equipment and livestock

Well put. I used to breed poison dart frogs and several reptile species and this is very true of the shipping process.

    HELP! 40 breeder stand question

600lbs is evenly distributed along the whole shelf. Which a 40breeder is 36" long leaving 12" of no weight. Also are the wheels attached? That adds even more stress to those points. I would absolutely build or get another stand. I have several of these types of stands and I would be...

    My Petco Experience

I can't believe I forgot the fish dudes name, but anyways I have had many a conversation with him. However those sps need much higher light as they are only running two t5 bulbs for every row of tanks. For the most part more care/effort goes into this section than any other petco I've ever...

Our 1st Reef Tank build ever - 70 gal AGA tall

Ditto that! The shrimp are as irresistable to the hawks as the hawks' personalities are to us. I have had success with falco's as well. Always hard to pass up a good hawkfish.

Our 1st Reef Tank build ever - 70 gal AGA tall

Lookin good! With the pics, tripods go a long way for through the glass shots, for stationary pictures (if you don't have a remote) set it for a 2 second delay in the shutter it will help to settle any vibrations your finger would produce hitting the shutter button.

    Coolest pic I got yet

I really like this shot I zoomed in and you can see your reflection a little as well, did you do any PP (sharpening or contrasting)? Something that has been on my short list is extension tubes, have you ever looked into them?

    Coolest pic I got yet

I could tell it was a drop of water, the great thing about the shot is it makes it looks like a crystal/diamond. Where most droplets of water show distinct reflections.

I may have skipped over it, but just curious why you are running two ballasts? Do you have two daylight two actinics on seperate ballasts? Only reason I ask is the icecap is capable of running all four and will almost for sure push more light out of the other two bulbs as well.

    Icecap ballast on Odyssea fixture

If not much difference in output, try selling the icecaps, the name recognition will get MUCH more interest in the sale. Just a thought.

    Icecap ballast on Odyssea fixture

I bought it already modded, but you can find the diy on several other reefing sites, just search oddysea ballast mod I'm sure it will come up. Works great, gonna be dissapointed when I sell it soon, but won't have a need for it.

    Icecap ballast on Odyssea fixture

No problem using that ballast instead. I actually have a modded odyssea ballast that burns closer to the 250w (where most oddysea ballasts burn around 170w I believe) and compared it to an icecap I have and it was fairly close.

    Use playbox sand?

This isn't my thread, but I was curious what your experience has been with this type of sand? I am always interested to hear peoples experiences/types of tanks, corals, inhabitants, etc...while using this sand.
