Best/Cheapest glass store anywhere in the Pacific Northwest

I took these awhile ago and forgot to post them, what do you think? I built the stand too. It will be going over my external skimmer and sit right next to my main tank. So, is the general consensus that I should be fine with 1/4" glass or should i add two rails along the outside edges?

    Arrivals 10/5-10/9

Do you suppose you guys will have any Christmas Wrasse's left in stock by the time of the big sale this weekend?

Hahahaha, you saw the tags! I was thinking about returning them after the job. They were about $30 a piece and I don't know if I really NEED 24" clamps. The throat depth is almost always more limiting then the travel.

My guys always polish the edges. I think you'd have to ask to get them sharp. I plan on having the tank done before i leave for "home" on Friday afternoon, when I come back on Sunday I'll decide if I think the 1/4" will hold. If not, I will throw some 24"x2" rails along the two sides where most...

    2009 3rd Anniversary Sale!

Well, I am definitely going to be making my way across the mountains for this sale. I will also be able to stop by again on the morning of Sunday the 18th, but I'm pretty sure I will have to leave early on Sunday to visit some other people on my way back to Pullman. I saw that you don't have to...

The Georgia Aquarium. Way cooler to see them in the wild though.

Yeah, I think the silicone to glass bond is a lot stronger then we give it credit for. I plan on getting some black RTV 103 silicone, its going to look snazzy. If I'm lucky my glass should be ready today!

Yeah after calling around all the prices were about the same (Except for one place that charged nearly double, over $400...). As is things have changed and I am going with 1/4" glass cut by a local glass shop I use all the time. Someone brought up a good point awhile ago, 40 breeders are made...

Best/Cheapest glass store anywhere in the Pacific Northwest

Empire was about $10 cheaper then my truly local store..... So annoying, Glass Cages makes almost exactly what I want (24"x24"x16") out of 1/2" glass and they only charge $150 for the finished, rimless product. If I lived on the east coast I would be all over that. At this point I might build...

Just contacted www.fabglass.com , they are a wholesaler and will only ship to you if you start an account and have your own business. Still waiting on a quote from Empire glass. So far the price to beat is $280 from a local glass shop in Pullman, this frag tank project is getting more expensive...

No one recommends them? You recommended them!! ;) Yeah, they said the package would weigh 240lbs with the pallet and no common carrier has anything to drop off on the return trip from the northwest.....

Nope, I'll give them a call tomorrow. Are they in Spokane?

    A whole new dimension!!!

Hey Mike, I'm going to be in Spokane on Saturday, any news on the berghias?

That was my exact plan, but after I contacted them they said it would be ~$190 for the glass and a whopping $360 just to ship it to Washington state!! I have a local glass shop that will cut the same glass for $280, I was just wondering if there would be better deals if I went to a bigger city...

So the story is I am building a 24"x24"x15" rimless frag/anemone tank to go right next to my 120 and be plumbed into the main system. Since the tank is going to be rimless, I want to make it out of at least 3/8" glass, which after making a few phone calls already seems to be a specialty item...

    Fish stocking help

In my opinion you can add two of the Ctenochaetus tangs to a 90 gallon, or 1 Acanthurus/Zebrasoma with maybe a second ctenochaetus. As far as stocking I would add the Cteno first, followed by the bigger tang. The strigosus (Kole tang) have somewhat of a reputation for being a bit feisty so if...

Tangs in trouble, help! (Pics coming soon)

It has always been my understanding that planaria are photosynthetic and thus their growth is not necessarily limited by running a low nutrient system. Also, I never had an explosion, they just grew and grew until it became an eyesore (I did not lose a single coral to planaria overgrowth)...

Tangs in trouble, help! (Pics coming soon)

I completely agree with all of these statements except number three. I have heard from many good sources that FE is too dilute at the recommended concentrations to completely eradicate the worms. Still, what I should have done was dose the tank once at the "normal" concentration and then wait...
