    Electrocuting Mojanos

I should probably start a new thread for this but this reminded me of what I have been doing and my question applies to this anyways... I have been boiling water and using a syringe to pipe it down to kill them. The question is what ever way you kill them do you have to remove them? I'm not...

    Why have snails?

I'm sure to some extent these snails are getting their fill but why do WE need them? They dont clear our front glass, we still have to clear it with other means! Do they really fill a gap that we need filled?

    Why have snails?

Can I ask this question!? My snails eat aglae yeah...but to what extent?! Are we keeping these snails hostage for no reason!? I had what was and is still considered the 'recomended amount' for the last 5 years...my snails have died off to where I have about 10% of whats recomended but my...

    Good Online Fish Store

As per Porksoda's advice I just went to reefcleaners.org...I didn't order any animals but rather several different types of macro. The prices are amazing...on algea and animals, I just didn't need any animals. I can't find prices like that anywhere!

    starfish

I have had one in a my 46 bowfront with a 3 inch sandbed for almost 2 years...he is doing great, and he is competing with at least 10 nassarius snails. I think their success is circumstantial. I do bury some food in the sand every now and again...but thats not even on a regular basis maybe once...

    overflow repair?

I don't know anything about bounding acrylic but many people on here do...I would just get that special acrylic glue. That should do it fine.

    bite out of yellow tang

I'm not sure about the bite...I had a snowflake a few years back and he ate fine for a year. One day I didn't see him...which continued for abou 6 months. Oneday he appeared and I saw him everyday for 3 months but he wuldn't eat. Finally after 9 months he started eating again. They are...

    phosphates??

I use to live in Florida so I know from expeirience you dont have great tap water...have you checked your ro water for phosphates? I never did but I always had the same problem when I lived in jacksonville and pensacola. I guess in a nutshell, are yourro filters perfoming? Beyond that I'm out.

    A Night to forget!!!!

This is a shot off the hip...I have never seen mold result from SALTwater...I'm NOT saying it's not possible but I haven't seen it...I have had many spills! I will say this...and this is good-great advise: mold mainly grows where it is damp constantly or gets moisture frequently. So if this is...

are clowns safe hosting my Trachyphyllia geoffroy?

Not to ruin everyones day...but EVERYONE is wrong:) Well not typically in a aquarium but in the ocean ya'll are. It's a symbiotic relationship...his is hers...mine is yours. There isn't a 'host.' The anemone keeps the fish clear from predators and visaversa... but in the aquarium there shouldn't...

    LED lighting comparison

I have always hated the 'moonlight' but Im with ya here...less energy...longer life! Heck if someone could configure LED's light spectrum out for aquarium use it would be great! Tell your bro in law to keep up his great work and invent us some lights! I have a super genius bro in law myself but...

    moving

There are alot of different opinions on the sand...Mine being keep it in the aquarium with just enough water to cover it during the move and disturd it as little as possible. I have moved three different tanks that way with no problem. I have heard to take everything out except the sand and...

    Quite a Lighting Pickle

Kinda both...I did cut 1/2in (of 2in) off of each side(which=1in) but If I did it again I would make the width of the brace a 1/2in(instead of 1 in)...I would take 3/4 in off each side vice 1/2. Basically, I would make the brace a 1/2in wide. The plastic can hold it, there really isn't too much...

The ONLY reason I...
